At this point, Ingersoll Rand has a high level of different products and offerings that have led them to become a highly successful company. There’s a lot of trust that goes into purchasing any kind of tool, you need something that will work correctly and as designed, and Ingersoll Rand has been delivering that kind of quality for decades.

The Ingersoll Rand 231C Impact Wrench is an awesome piece of equipment and is a great addition to the Ingersoll Rand line of products. This impact wrench is going to take care of the jobs you need done with a level of reliability that you don’t always see on the marketplace today in lesser products.

1. The Basic of 231C

Out of all of the impact wrenches on the market today, the Ingersoll Rand 231C has been a model that has consistently sold well over time. While that isn’t always a measure of what a wrench can do, it does speak well to the quality you’re getting when making a purchase here.

The 231C has a max torque of 425 ft-lbs, which actually can be beaten by other power wrenches on the market today. The great thing about that is that this level of power will still be good enough for most jobs that your average person needs to be completed.

On top of that, you’re getting a power wrench that is easy to carry and get it where you need it. The dimensions speak to a lightweight power wrench that is easily portable and can go wherever you need it.

Ingersoll-Rand 231C

The main use, or maybe the best use, of the 231C, is for car needs. If you’re a person who’s always tinkering around with the cars in your garage, or maybe even in the backyard, this model is going to be a great fit for you.

Ingersoll Rand 231C is not really designed to be fighting the heaviest battles, this is more of a tool that has a general consumer in mind.

2. The Design of 231C

Ingersoll Rand has put a lot of thought into the design of their 231C model. The biggest thing you’ll notice when holding on to this model is the fact that it has a very lightweight design. It’s not a monster, in fact, it’s quite easy to hold on to and doesn’t have a ton of weight that is going to give you any kind of problems during use.

The 231C is quite durable as well. If you happen to drop this tool somewhere during work or just have any kind of impact, you shouldn’t see any negative effects from that kind of reasonable impact.

It seems to fit your hand rather easily and should feel comfortable in your hand. That’s one of the best things you can say for a power wrench like this, you want to have a tool that feels sturdy in your hand to give you a level of confidence when you’re working. The 231C lives up to all of that and is a tool that gets the job done effectively.

3. Power of 231C

The Ingersoll Rand 231C is an air-powered wrench. With this wrench, you have an adjustable power setting so it is appropriate for various uses of jobs. It generates 425 ft-lb of torque. The 231C delivers an extremely impressive amount of 8000 rpm when needed.

4. Accessories and Warranty Information

Ingersoll Rand offers a few different levels of warranties depending on the different aspects involved. With this 231C you have a 3-year tool and charger limited warranty, a 2-year battery high capacity battery replacement warranty, and a 1-year tool, battery, and charger replacement warranty. These warranties show that Ingersoll Rand is serious about their product, and you can buy with confidence. The 231C is a great drill, and many people also may purchase a socket set with their power wrench as well.

Things we liked

Overall, I’m impressed by the Ingersoll Rand 231C. The design feels quite light in your hand, while it still is a sturdy tool. That means you’re going to feel confident while using it but you’re also not going to get tired from the weight of a heavier tool.

The model specs are quite impressive when you compare this to other power wrenches on the market. You can run this power wrench for a fair amount of time and not be concerned about any kind of durability or issues like that. The 231C is reliable and it’s powerful for most consumers’ needs.

You can feel confident buying the 231C from Ingersoll Rand because of the warranties they offer. I like seeing multi-year warranties because my hope is that I’ll never have to use them. The simple fact that these long warranties exist means that Ingersoll Rand is confident they’re offering a tool that lasts, which is great for consumers who want a purchase with great value.

Things we didn’t like

One big drawback of the 231C is that it may need a fair amount of lubrication from time to time. That’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it should be noted that you do need to take care of this tool and put the appropriate time into upkeep.

This product is made in China, and while I didn’t see any quality concerns, some users may want to know or be aware of that.
